ENCOURAGE THE CALL

Written by Rev. D. Scott Johnson

I am called

I am called

I am called

I was called later in life

I was called as a young adult

I was called as a teenager

I don’t know why God called me

I don’t know why God called me

I don’t know why God called me

But, I said “yes”, eventually.

But, I said “yes”, eventually.

But, I said “yes”, eventually.

I was called to be an elder

I was called to be a deacon

I was called to be an elder

I was called to serve God in a pastoral ministry

I was called to serve God in a servant ministry

I was called to serve God in a pastoral ministry

My ministry over the years has changed from pastoral to administrative

My ministry over the years has changed from servant to pastoral

My ministry is still the same

But, my ministry is still exciting

And my ministry is still changing

My ministry is still the same

Ministry is challenging

Ministry is rewarding

Ministry is meetings

Ministry is exciting

Ministry is uplifting

Ministry is meetings

Ministry is fulfilling

Ministry is encouraging

Ministry is meetings

Ministry is satisfying

Ministry is helping…and if you say meetings again, I’m going to bop you

Ministry is dangerous

In ministry I find hope

In ministry I find forgiveness

In ministry I find ah-ha moments

In ministry I find faith

In ministry I find love

In ministry I find ah-ha moments

In ministry I find grace

In ministry I find amazing grace

In ministry I find…

(voice #2)  If you say ah-ha moments again, I’m going to bop you

Enlightenment

Ministry allows me to be God’s hands

Ministry allows me to be God’s feet

Ministry allows me to be God’s heart

Ministry allows me to heal a broken world

Ministry allows me to serve a hurting soul

Ministry allows me to share God’s word with the world

Ministry allows me to share a word of forgiveness

Ministry allows me to share a word of acceptance

Ministry allows me to share a word of salvation

Ministry is

Ministry is

Ministry is

I am glad I was called

I am glad I was called

I am glad I was called

How about you?

Will you join me in ministry?

Are you called?
